After a hearty breakfast, we decided to take a stroll down the runway to check it out prior to our departure. This is a photo of Ron with the aircraft tiedown area and the lodge in the distant background.

Wayne decided to "test" the electric fence on our walk back. Yikes! Actually, it had only a little current (at least, that's what Wayne said).

Most of these backcountry Idaho airports are "one way", that is, you land in one direction and takeoff in the other. At Big Creek, you land south and takeoff north. After we took-off north we climbed out in the next northward valley, then reversed course to fly back over Big Creek. You can just see it on the "hog's back" down below - just ahead of the engine cowling.

As we continued south for Johnson Creek, we dipped our wing one more time for a look at the runway and lodge from almost directly overhead.

The camping area is just under the outside corner of the aileron and the lodge is just off the wingtip.
